Robert Louis Stevenson (1850–1894) was an Edinburgh engineer’s son who trained as a lawyer, wrote himself into tuberculosis, and spent his last years in Samoa. The books collected here are the ones that made him a household name in the 1880s: Treasure Island, the adventure story he began by drawing a map for his stepson; Kidnapped, the Scottish adventure that followed three years later; and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, written, he said, from a dream.

All are free in EPUB, AZW3 and KEPUB, and all are short: two are adventure stories that adults reread, the third a horror story that takes two hours.
